On Friday, October 21st, Attorney Ashley Zimmerman, partner in local law firm, Weinstein and Zimmerman, Attorneys at Law, will participate in a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) event presented by the Pike County Bar Association (PCBA). Addressing the topic of forensic procedures, “Voodoo Science” speculates on improving the quality of forensic testing and the consequent benefit in trial proceedings. This upcoming CLE is to be held at the Malibu Dude Ranch in Milford, Pennsylvania.
A Pike County resident since 1996, Attorney Zimmerman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Law from College Misericordia in Dallas, PA. She received her Juris Doctorate from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in Central Islip, NY.
While an undergraduate, Attorney Zimmerman completed a Pro Bono internship at the Pike County Public Defender’s Office, where she assisted attorneys in juvenile proceedings and preliminary hearings, as well as completing legal research. While attaining her doctorate, she spent some college semesters as a legal intern in Long Island legal institutions. At the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office in Mineola, NY, she was placed in the Government and Consumer Frauds Bureau, where she completed research, drafted close out and prosecution memorandums, and attended court hearings with the Assistant District Attorney, Zimmerman was also a part of the Veteran’s and Serviceman’s Clinic at the Touro Law Center in Central Islip. While there, she completed research in the area of Veteran’s and Serviceman’s rights.
With a wealth of experience accumulated to this point, in July of 2013, Zimmerman took the position of Associate Attorney at the law firm of Michael E. Weinstein, Attorney at Law, becoming a partner at the firm in January of this year.
Attorney Zimmerman holds the following certifications and memberships: NACDL, PACDL, Pennsylvania Bar Association, New York Bar Association, Public Defender’s Association, Pike County Bar Association, as well as the Wayne County Bar Association.
