On Saturday, October 22nd, Attorney John Campo, of local law firm, Weinstein and Zimmerman, Attorneys at Law, will participate as a volunteer attorney at the Pike County Bar Association (PCBA) Wills for Heroes program at the Pike County Emergency Training Center in Lord’s Valley. Along with select volunteer attorneys, Attorney Campo will donate this Saturday to prepare estate documents for Heroes, including veterans and first responders, such as police, fire, ambulance and EMT workers.
Created in response to the events of Sept. 11, 2001, Wills for Heroes is a nonprofit organization which has prepared more than 55,000 estate planning documents for first responders in 28 states since November 2001. Thousands of first responders risked their lives to save fellow Americans, and more than 400 firefighters and police officers made the ultimate sacrifice, many without estate plans. Through Wills for Heroes, volunteer lawyers provide free estate planning, including free wills, living wills, and healthcare and financial powers of attorney to first responders and their spouses or domestic partners. First responders and veterans along with their significant other, are eligible to receive “Wills, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills” prepared at no charge and leave with prepared, signed, witnessed, and notarized documents all at once.
A fellow Pike County resident, Attorney Campo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. He received his Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida with a concentration in International and Comparative Law.
